Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students
Since 2008, the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students has been helping smart students from families with incomes below Rs. 4.5 lakh per year. Its goal is to give them money for their everyday expenses while they're in college.
Every year, they aim to give out 82,000 scholarships, with half going to boys and half to girls. They decide how many each state gets based on how many young people there are aged 18-25.
To get this scholarship, students need to do really well in their class XII exams, scoring above the 80th percentile. They also need to be in regular courses and not getting any other scholarships.
The scholarship gives students Rs. 12,000 each year for the first three years and Rs. 20,000 each year for the fourth and fifth years. This helps them pay for things like books and food while they study.
This scholarship shows that India wants to support its brightest students and help them succeed in college.
